Staff Profile; Deputy Director ITN&H.
Prior to joining the University of Ibadan, Megbowon Oluseyi has been a network transmission specialist at Globacom Nigeria for years, functioning as an expert. He has worked and managed several network integrations both on the Globacom backbone optical section and microwave transmissions network section. During this period, his responsibility extended to managing and providing highest level transmissions’ TAC support on several Int’l telecoms vendors such as Alcatel, Alcatel-Lucent, Huawei, ZTE, Ceragon, and Siemens for all the Globacom transmissions' network in Nigeria. He has also delivered on million-dollar multi-vendor platform projects across Nigeria of various capacities and implementations.
He has previously worked with Leapworld Group and Steineng Limited as an IT consultant and Network engineer respectively.
He has a wealth of experience that spans through network operations management, process re-engineering, project management, transmission capacity management, network analysis and utilization, traffic migration/swap, network design and implementation, with strong technical leadership capacities (Optics-SDH and DWDM, Network planning, Microwave, Wi-Fi networks and Fiber Optics; Broadband and IP/MPLS) on the highest level Technical support for any multi-national transmissions’ network.
At present, He functions as a Deputy Director, Information Technology Network and Hardware, at the University of Ibadan, where He manages the University IT network technical team, network infrastructure deployments and advices on all IT network integrations.
He has his First degree in Electrical Electronics Engineering, a Masters’ degree in Information Technology, and an on-going PhD in Information Science.
A COREN registered engineer, ITIL v3 certified, Members of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Int’l Association of Engineers (IAENG), National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) among others.
